The Foundation

Ayurveda is a holistic healing system rooted in ancient Indian wisdom. As a comprehensive healing practice, Ayurveda emphasizes the importance of balance among the mind, body, and spirit for optimal health. Imbalance or stress is believed to be linked to the onset of diseases.

Ayurveda is based on the idea that the universe comprises five elements: air, water, space, earth, and fire. These elements are thought to form the three basic humors of the human body in different combinations. Ayurveda also holds that good health comes from harmony between the mind, body, and spirit, and that imbalance or stress can lead to disease.
Ayurvedic treatments include lifestyle changes, natural remedies, therapies, and massages. Treatments often begin with purification and may involve special diets, herbal remedies, yoga, and meditation.

When Laura founded Thai Yoga Therapy by Armentality in 2003, her aim was to blend Thai Yoga and Ayurveda with her dance and yoga teachings to better support her students. Gradually, she broadened her offerings to include individual therapy sessions and, in 2022, introduced certification programs.
Since 2017, Kaylee and Laura have teamed up to enhance the overall offerings of Thai Yoga Therapy by Armentality. Following Kaylee’s completion of her Naturopathic degree, she partnered with Laura to combine their knowledge and establish a holistic wellness community.
Their joint vision is to increase access to Yoga, preventive healthcare, and Thai Yoga for a broader audience, encompassing individuals and organizations. They aspire to provide their programs locally in West Michigan, across the USA, and worldwide.
